Here’s another Film emulation plug-in for Aperture. I hadn’t heard of this one before, but there was a story about it on the Phoblographer the other day, and it sounded interesting.
It’s called Film Stocks and its from Digital Film Tools. According to the product description:
Film Stocks is a unique filter that simulates 288 different color and black and white still photographic film stocks, motion picture films stocks and historical photographic processes.
What is unique about this plug-in is that it uses the GPU for its calculations so it should be pretty fast (and it is reasonably fast)!
I’ve used digital film tools products before in Final Cut Pro but I hadn’t realised that they made plug-ins for Aperture too. I’ve been having a quick play around with it and it looks pretty good. There are a lot of film stocks included and the interface isn’t bad either. It seems fairly fast too, and the results are pretty nice. I’ll certainly consider adding it to my arsenal!
You can download a trial if you want to give it a go yourself.
