A short while ago I mentioned that I was working on a make over for the Aperture Blog and I’m pleased to report that it is nearly ready. I still have a few tweaks to iron out, but I’m hoping to switch over to the new version this weekend. In order to give you a peek at the new design and to get some feedback I’ve included a screenshot below.

I’ve given it a much cleaner design than the current one. There is also a stronger use of typography which should make it easier on the eye for the design conscious. There’s also now a nice featured posts section at the top so you can quickly see popular (or posts that I think should be popular). The improved layout also allows me to add some new category sections to the menu so it will be easier to find subjects,
I’m aiming to go live with it on Saturday morning, so you can expect some downtime then. I’ve gone through my logs and tried to work out the quietest time so there won’t be too much disturbance to readers.
In case you were wondering the design is a modified version of WooTheme’s excellent new theme “Bold News”.
